Barrick Gold and the newly named Newmont Goldcorp announced Monday that the two companies’ joint venture in Nevada has cleared all its regulatory concerns ahead of schedule.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission granted the approval for the project on April 19, allowing Barrick and Newmont Goldcorp to move forward with what the companies state will be the “world’s largest gold producing complex.” The total gold produced from the included operations combined for over 4 million ounces in 2018.
