CIM Magazine Paid Editorial Internship
CIM Magazine offers a paid, full-time internship for upper-year students and recent graduates to help support and train the next generation of journalists. Availability varies throughout the year depending on the length of the internship (from four to eight months).
Interns are a valuable part of the newsroom, reporting for the news section of the website, writing the weekly newsletter and contributing to the front-of-book section of the magazine, which includes news, new products and a year-long editorial series that digs deeper into an important topic in mining.
There are no boring assignments at CIM Magazine – the mining industry is rapidly experiencing change, from its technology to the people who make up its workforce. Interns get to write about what interests them.
Assignments have included:
- • Advances in battery technology
- • Scientific breakthroughs
- • ESG obligations
- • The expansion of EDI in mining
- • The importance of Indigenous relations
- • Mental health in mining
By the end of the internship, our interns graduate to freelancing for CIM Magazine and have leveraged their experience with us for a variety of exciting roles, from battery metals analyst to vice-president of publications.
