A decade ago, Tamara Vatcher, CEO of educational technology company Training Works, visited Signal Gold’s Point Rousse gold operation in Newfoundland and Labrador. While speaking with the employees, they shared that they enjoyed learning through simple, hands-on methods like YouTube tutorials, where they could immediately apply what they learned. They appreciated mining’s on-the-job learning and wished more training occurred directly in the field, when and where it was needed.
