Jon Treen is the Senior Vice President and Regional Business Leader of Stantec’s global mining business line. Jon lives a philosophy of building relationships by caring about his clients’ business and success. A practiced speaker and advocate for mine safety and incident prevention through design, Jon has dedicated his career to improving mine operations all over the world—after all, mining is a global industry. In a previous role as general manager of operations for one of Canada’s largest integrated underground operations, Jon demonstrated his commitment to his projects by consistently spending time underground speaking with the miners (2,500 of them). He enjoys working to design mines that wouldn’t exist without an innovative and collaborative approach.

Allan Turner is a Senior Geologist and Manager of the Geology Department with Stantec. In this role, Allan oversees the technical quality of geology projects in the precious metal, base metal, and industrial mineral sectors for domestic and international projects. His work has taken him to several jurisdictions in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Portugal, Turkey, and China. He has an M.Sc. degree in Economic Geology and has 25 years of experience in precious metal, base metal, industrial minerals, and hydrocarbon deposit type; but ultimately, his passion lies in gold and silver. He is registered as a Professional Geologist in three Canadian jurisdictions, and is a Qualified Person as defined by Canadian National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. Allan enjoys interacting with his industry peers and working on diverse projects with companies and commodities around the world.

Steve Rusk is Vice President of mining at Stantec, specializing in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM). With over 30 years of experience, Steve has worked on projects throughout every stage of a mines’ lifecycle, from exploration to closure. He believes that it’s important for our people to understand our clients’ business. With that understanding, we can deliver the right solutions. Steve has worked for a variety of mining clients from the world’s largest companies to the smallest juniors and prospectors. He has served as project manager on several mine infrastructure pursuits, providing valuable insights on safety, compliance, mining methods, mine development and construction, and workforce management. Steve continues to manage and mentor our people and supervise many of our projects in his current role at Stantec.
