Pitram 4.17, Micromine’s latest release of its fleet management and mine control software, is designed for both surface and underground mining operations. The 4.17 release focuses on enhancing functionality in materials management, shift planning and security modules. “Pitram itself provides a number of tools across the mining value chain to monitor anything from productivity-related metrics to… looking at consumables for drill blast activities, so there's quite a lot of features that touch a lot of different people in a mining operation,” said Chris Higgins, Pitram product strategy manager at Micromine. According to the company, miners can also use Pitram Mobile, a touchscreen tablet application which can be installed in-cab on the mobile fleet and which captures data and sends it to servers in order to monitor materials, equipment and shift plans and determine areas for improved efficiency.
