The new SensorShield-1600 from ExcelSense is a self-cleaning window that can be added on to cameras and laser sensors to monitor equipment without being handicapped by contaminants. The company claims to take away the need to perform manual maintenance and cleaning throughout the estimated ten years of the SensorShield-1600’s lifetime, with no additional fluid or compressed air refills required. Built from an aerospace alloy, the device can handle temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C. “As it includes its embedded seal in it as well, it's really, really simple for an integrator to develop their own enclosure and have their own self-cleaning sensor made,” said Nima Nabavi, CEO of Excelsense Technologies.
