Ivanhoe Mines got a big boost for its Kamoa-Kakula copper project from CITIC Metal, an investment firm owned by the Chinese state.

 

CITIC Metal is investing $612 million into the Canadian mining company to fund the development of the Kamoa-Kakula project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This follows a $723-million investment from the firm last summer.
