Frank Gu, nanotechnology engineering professor and the CEO of H2nanO, a small clean-tech company based in Canada’s technology triangle (located in southwestern Ontario), remembers when he and his team of researchers set out to invent a new sunlight-powered process to treat industrial wastewater in Alberta’s oil sands.
