The Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) has identified sensor-based ore sorting as a potentially transformative technology for the mining industry. If companies can easily identify metal value from waste rock in an efficient and cost-effective way, it could potentially increase revenue and cut down on tailings generation.
