In the next five to 10 years, automotive companies intend to invest $300 billion to procure lithium-ion batteries and manufacture electric vehicles. A stable and secure supply of battery raw materials will be critical to the transportation, energy storage and chemical industries. In turn, this will drive significant investment in project development for the required specialty minerals and metals, namely lithium, cobalt, graphite, nickel and vanadium.
